Monadic Operations in C++23

  • by

This time, we were thrilled to see so many new faces at the meetup! It’s fantastic to see our community growing, and I’d like to extend a warm welcome to everyone who attended for the first time. The venue was nicely filled, which brought a great energy to the event. Thank you, and a big thanks as well to the TU Wien Alumni Club for hosting us in such an great space!

C++ News (for Newcomers)

With so many newcomers joining us, I focused on community resources, which you can explore in the attached slides from our previous meetup 😉

Spotlight: Robert’s Talk on “Monadic Operations in C++23”

The focus of the evening was definitely Robert’s talk, which was nothing short of excellent. He guided us through the basics of monads, ventured through the valley of functors and wrappers, and finally took us down the rabbit hole beyond C++23. Throughout the course, he demonstrated how monads can simplify complex code, especially in error handling and chaining operations. His explanations were clear and engaging, making a challenging topic feel accessible and practical. Judging by the audience’s response, this was a real hit! But just take a look at it for yourself.
