Main talk: Insights into Entity Component Systems
In software development, composition is key — so we’re looking forward to presenting three local C++ entities at once: Helmut Hlavacs and Isabella Hölzl from the University of Vienna.
Inheriting a shared passion for Entity Component Systems (ECS), they guide us through the essentials of this powerful data structure, heavily used in video games. Discover how this composition pattern works, dynamically clustering data tied to specific entities. And go even further as they explore architectural choices and optimization strategies tailored to different use cases.
If you missed the talk (or just want to watch it again) here’s a link to the recording.
Until Next Time
We look forward to seeing both familiar faces and new ones at our upcoming meetups. New dates will be announced soon on https://cppusergroupvienna.org.
